The protection of your personal data during its collection, processing and use on the occasion of your visit to our web-site is important to us. We collect and use your personal data exclusively within the framework of the provisions of the law relating to data protection. In the paragraphs which follow we provide you with information on the nature, extent and purposes of the collection and use of personal data. You can access this information at all times on our web-site, save it in your device or print it out.
We wish to point out explicitly that there are security flaws in the transmission of data in the Internet (e.g. when using email) and that the transmission of such data cannot be 100% protected against access by third parties.
Within the meaning of the law on data protection, the party responsible for the collection and use of personal data is Mr Marcus Masekowsky, Beuthener Strasse 12, 76139 Karlsruhe, email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Collection and use of non-personal data
When you access our web-site, your Internet browser automatically transmits data to our server for technical reasons. Amongst other things, this data consists of the time and date of the access, the URL (address) of the web-page forwarding the information, the file which was accessed, the volume of data transmitted, the browser type and version, the operating system and your IP address. This data is saved separately from other data which you enter in the course of your use of our app. It is not possible for us to correlate this data to a specific person. The data includes no information of any nature whatsoever which would allow individual persons to be identified. It is used exclusively for statistical and analytical purposes such as the improvement of our services; once used, it is finally deleted.
The collection and use of personal data / contact form / encryption
Personal data (e.g. your name and email address) – with the exception of the data when logging on via Facebook-Connect, Facebook Audience Network and Google-Connect (see below on these points) – is only collected and used if you enter this data in an input field or send it to us in an email for the purpose of a query to us or to make use of a service or offering or if you have expressly consented to the collection and use of this data.
At the same time the data of the friends you added using the APP’s Friend’s Network and the hangouts you entered (place, description, icon and friends who you invited) are saved so that they can be accessed again at any time in your account.
You are under no obligation to enter such information. Data transmission to the server is always encrypted using HTTPS. The personal data is always used for a specific purpose (e.g. to answer your message).
Precisely what is accumulated when the web-site is used and what happens to this data?
- Email address: The email address is only saved and used as part of the Google and Facebook log-in for allocation to the Map Me account.
- Friends network: Friends added to the app and the marker types defined by the user are saved so that they can be subsequently accessed.
- Hangouts: Hangouts (place, description, icon and friends who you invited) created in the app are saved so that they can be subsequently accessed and made available to friends in the Friends Network.
In so far as a contractual relationship is to be concluded between you and us, its content specified or amended, we collect and use your personal data to the extent necessary to achieve these objectives. If so ordered by the relevant bodies, we are allowed to disclose information about this data (master data) on a case by case basis in so far as this is necessary for the purposes of law enforcement, the prevention of danger, to comply with the statutory duties of the authorities responsible for the protection of the constitution or the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
We collect and save your personal data in so far as this is necessary to make use of our web-site services or to invoice these services (usage data). This particularly includes distinctive features to identify you and information on the beginning, end and extent of the use of our site. Provided that we use pseudonyms, we are allowed to create usage profiles for the purpose of promotion, market research and the alignment of our Internet service with requirements. You have the right to prohibit this use of your data at any time. We will not combine the usage profiles with information about the person behind the pseudonym, nor are we allowed to do so.
No personal data is disclosed to third parties
Except in the cases expressly specified here, for example in the context of the Google Analytics tool, your personal data is not disclosed or passed to third parties in any other way.
Right of revocation
You have the right at any time, and with effect for the future, to revoke the consent you have given to the collection and use of personal data. You can contact us for this purpose by post or by an email to email@example.com.
Right to information
You have the right to require information about the data which has been saved relating to your person or your pseudonym: this information is free of charge. If you so request, this information can be sent to you by electronic means. You can contact us for this purpose by post or by an email to firstname.lastname@example.org .
Right to correction, blocking or deletion
As well as the right to information, under specific circumstances you also have a right to the correction, blocking or deletion of your personal data. For example, you are entitled to the correction of your data if the data is (or has become) incorrect. You also have a right, for example, to the deletion of your personal data if the archiving of the data is not (or is no longer) permitted etc. You can contact us for this purpose by post or by an email to email@example.com .
If you discontinue your account with us (something you can do at any time) all the data relating to your account and your person which we hold is deleted.
Objection to the commercial use of your contact data
The use by third parties of the contact data published in our Legal Notices or comparable contact information such as postal addresses, phone and fax numbers for the transmission of information which has not been specifically requested is not permitted unless we have previously granted our consent in writing or a business relationship is already in existence. We expressly reserve the right to take legal action against persons or organisations sending what are called “SPAM” emails in breach of this prohibition. The service-provider and all persons named on this web-site hereby object to any commercial use and transmission of its/their data.
We offer our users the opportunity to register for our service via Facebook-Connect. Separate registration is therefore unnecessary. In order to register, you will be transferred to the Facebook page where you can register with your usage data. This links your Facebook profile and our service. As a result of this link we automatically receive certain information from Facebook Inc., the extent of which depends on the privacy settings you have entered in Facebook.
If you have not specifically prohibited this in your Facebook settings, Facebook will allow us access to certain information. Out of this information we ask Facebook for: your name, email address and, if available your Facebook profile picture and your Facebook ID. This information is essential for the conclusion of the contract so that we can identify you.
For further information on Facebook-Connect and the privacy settings, please see the Data protection information and the Terms and Conditions of Use of Facebook Inc.
You can also register with us via an existing Google account without having to enter your data with us again. In order to register, you are then transferred to the Google registration page where you can log in with your Google log-in data. This links your Google account with us. As a result, we automatically receive access to certain information from Google. Out of this information we ask Google for: your name, email address and, if available, your profile picture and your Google ID. This information is essential for the conclusion of the contract so that we can identify you.
You will find your Google settings and additional information about Google Inc. on “Google Connect” at https://myaccount.google.com/ .
Cookies & other technologies
When individual pages are accessed, what are called “cookies” are used. Cookies are small text files which are installed in your terminal (PC, smartphone etc.). The cookies of our web-site do not collect any personal data about you and are completely anonymous. Cookies cause no damage to your computer and also contain no viruses. Cookies remain on your device and enable us to recognise your browser the next time you visit us (permanent cookies), for example therefore when you log in to recognise the consent you previously gave.
You can prevent the installation of cookies by an appropriate setting of your browser which either prevents cookies from being accepted in specific instances or in general or alternatively which enable you to decide on a case by case basis whether cookies are accepted. However, we wish to point out that in this case you may not be able to make full use of all this web-site’s functions.
Use of the Google Analytics analysis tool
This web-site uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (Google). Google Analytics uses what are called “cookies”; these are text files which are saved on your computer and which make it possible to analyse your use of the web-site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this web-site is normally transmitted to one of Google’s servers in the USA where it is saved. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this web-site, your IP address within the member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area is first abbreviated by Google. It is only in exceptional cases that your full IP address is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there. Acting on behalf of the operator of this web-site, Google will use this information to assess your use of the web-site, to compile reports about the activities within the web-site and to perform further services associated with the use of the web-site for the web-site operator. The IP address sent to Google Analytics by your browser is not linked to other Google data. You can prevent the saving of the cookies by the appropriate setting of your browser software; however, we wish to make you aware that in this case you may not be able to make full use of all this web-site’s functions. You can also prevent the capture of the data relating to your use of the web-site (including your IP address) captured by the cookie and its transmission to Google as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).
You can find more detailed information on the Terms and Conditions of Use and data protection at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html and at http://www.google.com/intl/de/analytics/privacyoverview.html.
We would like to point out that on this web-site Google Analytics was extended by the code “gat._anonymizeIp();” to ensure that IP addresses are collected in an anonymised form (this is called “IP masking”).
